In celebration of 200 Years of U.S. – Thai Friendship, the Embassy of the United States of America, U.S. Consulate General Chiang Mai, Payap University, College of Music, Payap University, Chiang Mai University, Montfort College and Dara Academy proudly present “An Evening of Gospel Music with Oscar Williams and the Band of Life” on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 18:45 hrs. at Henry Luce Chapel, Payap University, Chiang Mai. Oscar Williams and the Band of Life

Oscar Williams & the Band of Life is made up of musicians, singers, artists and speakers effortlessly fusing multiple genres to form a harmonious style they call “LIFE MUSIC.” Known for their raw and soul wrenching performances, the group takes their audiences on a musical journey through Gospel music.

From their inception in 1999, Oscar Williams and the Band of Life has attracted singers and musicians that hold a deep spiritual connection, but are also consummate craftsman in their fields. Together, Oscar and the Band have achieved national acclaim as musical ambassadors for the U.S. States Department regularly being invited to countries around the world to perform, give master classes and speak to various audiences. To date, they have traveled to over 20 countries internationally including for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican Christmas Concert.

Oscar and the Band of Life believe that music is a universal language that unites people, their motto is: Your words create your world so always SPEAK LIFE.

Oscar and the Band of Life together with special guests; the student choirs from College of Music, Payap University, Chiang Mai University, Montfort College and Dara Academy will inspire the audience with famous Gospel compositions like “You Raise Me Up”, “O Happy Day”, “Amazing Grace” and “This Is Me”, a song from the film “The Greatest Showman”.

Prior to this performance, on Monday, September 9, Oscar and the Band of Life conducted workshops with students from College of Music, Payap University, Chiang Mai University, Montfort College and Dara Academy.
