Talk & Open Studio by Catherine Paleczny & Jirawong Wongtra-ngan

You are cordially invited to participate in the talk about ‘Public Art’ by Catherine Paleczny, a Canadian artist who is the current artist-in-residence at S.A.C. Residency Program in Chiang Mai(5th cycle-2019). Paleczny will share her work experiences on the relationship between artists, architectural concepts and local governments in terms of arranging works of art to show in the city area in response to the expansion of the community. Moreover, Paleczny will talk about working as an artist and also other roles that help to drive the creative practice of a professional artist in accordance with the conditions in the world today.

This TALK + OPEN STUDIO activity is a collaboration between S.A.C. Residency Program in Chiang Mai and IN CLAY Studio where is a space opened for ceramists coming to create works including experimenting with new ceramic techniques. Jirawong Wongtra-ngan, a Thai ceramic artist and a founder of IN CLAY Studio Pottery, will join the talk and discuss on working as a ceramic artist and the possibility of establishing a society for ceramic artists in Chiang Mai. Besides, he will reveal how to manage a small ceramic studio.

Both artists will come together to share their experiences through the TALK + OPEN STUDIO activity that will take place on 27 July 2019 at INCLAY STUDIO from 17.00 onwards.
