World Hindi Day at Indian Consulate

World Hindi Day was celebrated at a well attended event at the Consulate of India in Chiang Mai. Thai students from ‘Bharat Vidya’ of Chiang Mai University reciting poems, presenting an outstanding chorus song and a dance. Many Hindi poets from Chiang Mai including Pradeepti Singh, Subhashini, Ranjeet Singh, and Shyam Arora presented their newly written poems, and Ashok Rajpal presenting a couple of poems of others in lyrical form. Acclaimed Singer Parth Patel, for a change, sang two songs from the Golden Era of Hindi film songs, and on popular demand a Gujarati devotional songs as well. Ajarn Dr Patma and Dr Deepti from ‘Bharat Vidya’ in Humanities, CMU made a presentation on a soon to be launched Bachelor Degree Course on Indian Culture. The event concluded with Consul Krishna Chaitanya presenting Indian Prime Minister H.E. Mr Narendra Modi’s message on the occasion of World Hindi Day. He also recited his translation of a poem ‘Autumn Morning in Bihar’, penned by the Irish Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr Pat Bourne during his previous posting in New Delhi. Dr Deepti superbly compared the event while Chai N Thai did the catering and decoration.
