Women of India Day at Indian Consulate

As part of the celebration of 75th year of India’s Independence #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav Consulate of India organised Streeshakti Utsav last evening at its premises to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in India. The event also marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Consulate which started functioning at Chiang Mai in October 1972. Swan of Swan Bay fame enthralled the audience with his devotional music in the company of Sailesh who was superb with his drum while Paula, Priyanka and Sneha performed traditional Indian dances. Sirinapa Titapan from CMU rendered a Hindi song on which Indian children walked the ramp in colourful dresses representing different parts of India. Sharmain Shaikh anchored the event, which was truly a festival showcasing the rich cultural diversity of India. Chai N Thai provided the catering and served cuisine from different parts of India.
