“ What Makes A Home ” at Baan 104 as part of Chiang Mai Design Week

Baan 104, a multifunctional space in Lanna Colonial design building. The place where you can spend quality time learning and gathering with friends and families through creative activities. On the first floor, The Pantry is our in-house cafe where carefully selected pastries and beverages are available. The second floor, The Living Room is a space where you can find a variety of creative workshops and activities co-host with passionate instructors throughout the year, while B104 is a store that mixes vintage and contemporary, a curated selection of design objects and homewares designs by both local and international brands.

presented home in both physical and mental aspects. Starting from the smallest unit we called family to a larger scale as a community. Baan104 will be home to the Chiang Mai local community and travelers. It aims to be a sharing hub of creativity communicating the importance of home, which consists of activities such as exhibition, talk, workshop, live music, and cafe. The project has incorporated artists, designers, instructors and local entrepreneurs as we would like to essentially share, connect and exchange the context of home through various mediums and perspectives, encouraging a real relationship and connection amongst the participants.

บ้าน104 a Home cafe and multifunctional space ในบ้านสไตล์โคโลเนียล บ้าน104เกิดขึ้นจากเป้าหมายที่ต้องการสร้างพื้นที่สร้างสรรค์ที่เป็นมิตรกับครอบครัว เป็นพื้นที่ที่เปิดโอกาสให้เกิด offline activites เป็นพื้นที่เล็กๆที่อยากให้เพื่อนและคนในครอบครัวได้มาใช้เวลาและทำกิจกรรมร่วมกัน โดยชั้นที่1 The Pantry เป็นโซนคาเฟ่ เสิร์ฟโฮมเมดเบเกอรี่และเครื่องดื่ม ชั้น2เป็นส่วนของ The Living Room ที่เราคัดกิจกรรมWorkshopที่น่าสนใจ มาให้ร่วมสนุกกันในทุกเดือน โดยเป็นความร่วมมือกันของบ้าน104 และ เหล่าLocal Artists & instructors และยังมี B104 เป็นส่วนพื้นที่ที่รวบรวมสินค้าเฟอร์นิเจอร์ และของแต่งบ้าน ที่คัดสรรมาให้ได้เลือกดูกัน

 ตลอดทั้งปีที่ผ่านมา เราเห็นถึงความสำคัญของบ้านที่มีผลต่อการใช้ชีวิตของเราอย่างชัดเจน ทั้งในแง่ของบ้านที่เป็นที่อยู่อาศัยในเชิงสถาปัตยกรรม หรือบ้านในเชิง Mental & Relationship คือ partners  friends & families  ไปจนถึงสิ่งแวดล้อม และ community ที่เราอยู่อาศัย เราจึงอยากที่จะนำtopic ที่ใกล้ตัวมากๆอันนี้มาสร้างเป็น creative activities ที่จะให้คนเห็นถึงความสำคัญของบ้านและร่วมแชร์ประสบการณ์ในมุมมองต่างๆ หรือความรู้ที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อผู้ที่มาร่วมงาน จึงเกิดเป็นโปรเจ็ค  “ What Makes A Home ” ขึ้น

เป้าหมายของการจัดงาน  “ What Makes A Home ” เพื่อนำเสนอพื้นที่ทางเลือกในเชิงของ family friendly space โดยใช้สถานที่คือ บ้าน104 ในการจัดงาน เป็นพื้นที่หลักในการเชื่อมโยงกิจกรรมต่างๆที่เกิดขึ้นในบ้าน ที่รวมเอากิจกรรมสร้างสรรค์ การแสดง/แชร์ผลงานของเพื่อนนักออกแบบและศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ รวมถึงการแบ่งปันความรู้และแชร์ประสบการณ์ในเรื่องราวใกล้ตัวที่เกี่ยวข้องในชีวิตประจำวัน เพื่อเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการแลกเปลี่ยนบทสนทนาที่เกี่ยวกับ ” บ้าน ” ในมุมมองของแต่ละคน  เป็นอีกกิจกรรมหนึ่งที่ encourage offline relationship , เน้นการสร้างการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์ร่วมกันผ่านกิจกรรม และหวังว่าจะเป็นจุดเล็กๆที่สามารถต่อยอดการให้ความสำคัญกับบ้าน ครอบครัว ชุมชนและสังคมที่เราอยู่อาศัย เรียนรู้การอยู่ร่วมกันและการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน
