U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Courtesy Call with Chiang Mai Governor

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Michael Heath paid a courtesy call with Chiang Mai Governor Charoenrit Sanguansat. This was followed by a press briefing with local media where Michael Heath explained their discussions amongst other topics included Covid19 and pollution problems in Chiang Mai. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Thailand is the largest outside the United States and has recently procured 12 ventilators worth $250,000 and over $160,000 worth of personal protective equipment (PPE). According to Chargé d’Affaires Heath the “equipment will go to the provinces and frontline health workers that need it most.”
