Swiss Ambassador Visits Skills 4 Life

August 19

During her tour of Chiang Mai the Swiss Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Helene Budliger visited Skills 4 Life Foundation. Dominique Leutwiler, founder of Skills 4 Life Foundation showed the ambassador the facilities at the foundation and explained their mission. Skills 4 Life aims to fill the academic and social void that orphaned teenagers often face due to a lack of education and family support, thus breaking the cycle of vulnerability and exploitation. Dominique presented the Ambassador with a Botlight. By using recycled glass bottles, they are giving them a second usability in life as lighting sources. Various companies, organizations and individuals pitch in to donate their empty bottles to Skills 4 Life and by a process of carefully cleaning and refurbishing them, they are able to turn these into Botlights, which in turn they sell to raise money for the foundation. At the end of the tour, the group had refreshments in Pak Ping Cafe. Pak Ping Cafe, operating in Chang Puak area as an extension of Skills 4 Life Foundation, provides fresh coffees with locally sourced beans, fresh cold-pressed juices and brownies. Great location and fun venue to drop by, hang out or get some work done. https://www.facebook.com/pakpingcafe/ The ambassador was accompanied by the Swiss Honorary Consul, Marc Dumur, and Eveline Willi President of the Swiss Lanna Society.
