Special Olympics for the Mentally Challenged Children at the Training Centre for Special Needs Children Mae Rim from 1-3 June 2015. This event was sponsored by UNICEF, Unite for Children. 250 mentally challenged children, their carers and volunteers competed in various games, had fun and interacted with each other. The Foundation for Developing and Supporting Children will provide meals throughout the event. Darika Puntaman, one of the organisers of the Special Olympics told Citylife ‘because of the success of this event, we are planning a much bigger event at the Chiang Mai Municipal Stadium towards the end of the year’.
