November 26 – 27 – 28 Loy Krathong Festival 2023 / Yi Peng Festival 2023 – on November 26 – Opening of Loy Krathong Festival at Thapae Gate at 6pm – followed by Chiang Mai Goddess Yi Peng Contest, during the 3 day festival there will be numerous booths and displays at Thapae Gate & also at the Municipal building next to the US Consulate // There will be performances including  light, color, sound, and mixed media at the mechanical stage, embedded in the Sri Khong River. It is a performance that reflects the identity of the way of life, history Spiritual beliefs and lifestyles are connected to the river. From the past until the present. // There will be a fireworks display at 8:30 p.m., in honor of His Majesty the King, at Sri Khong pier area each evening//. On 28 November there is be a LOY KRATHONG PARADE with 22 large krathongs setting off from Thapae Gate at 7pm (maybe 6pm double check) – going down Thapae Road to Nawarat Bridge – then heading to the Municipal buildings next to the US Consulate. Various temples and historical buildings will be decorated around the city from November 26 – 28
