Indian Consul, Shirish Jain’s Birthday Party

The 50th birthday of the Indian Consul to Chiang Mai, Shirish Jain, was celebrated with a grand function on the evening of January 1 at his residence. It was attended by a large number of family and friends from India and Chiang Mai. The guest list included the Governor of Chiang Mai, Pawin Chamniprasart, the Consul Generals of China and the USA, along with their spouses, besides a host of dignitaries including former ambassadors and Honorary Consuls of various countries. Much warmth and a confluence of cultures was the hallmark of the evening, with guests enjoying the Lebanese as well as Indian cuisine. The wife of the birthday man, Rajni Basumatary ensured that the party went off smoothly.
