Ethical Elephant Sanctuary Talk at Free Bird Café

Julie Zatuchni gave a talk entitled “Does an Ethical Elephant Sanctuary Exist” at Free Bird Café.

Julie talked about the history of elephant use and care in Thailand, from logging days through the boom of tourism and what direction we might go in now.

Julie is an expat from USA, living here in Chiang Mai with her husband. She is a lifelong lover of elephants, supporting, visiting and volunteering at sanctuaries for years. She has spent an extensive amount of time at BLES, Boon Lot Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand and has visited the premier elephant rescue in Kenya, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
