2016 Northern Thailand Warden Conference

February 12

The U.S. Consulate General hosted its annual Northern Thailand Warden Conference at the Holiday Inn on February 12.  Nineteen wardens joined the discussion which included updates on American Citizen Services issues, a crisis management exercise, an overview of the privacy act, and U.S. visa information.  The U.S. Consul General, Consular Section Chief, Vice Consul, Regional Security Officer, Political Officer, a Thai Lawyer, and Regional Medial Psychiatrist were invited speakers.  The speakers welcomed questions from the wardens related to living in Thailand, preparing a Thai will, and helping with ill and destitute U.S. citizens.  The wardens in northern Thailand are an active group of long term residents who provide the consulate with regular updates on issues and events impacting the U.S. citizen community.
