New Administrative Court in Chiang Mai

CityNews – Dr. Ruethai Hongsiri, the general director of Chiang Mai Administrative Court, announced that there will be a new location for the administrative court in Chiang Mai.

The old court was established on 30th July 2001, authorized to cover eight provinces including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Lamphun, Nan, Phayao and Phrae.

The new location of the Administrative Court will officially open 1st July, at 3 p.m. at Chiang Mai Provincial Office, situated on 12 rai of land. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will be an opening guest.

Chiang Mai Administrative Court has dealt with cases for 12 years in northern Thailand. There have been 4,668 cases in total, with 3,990 finished cases. Most cases involve human and discipline management, real estate, and administrative government officers.

The government body which has been sued the most times is the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance, and then the Ministry of Education. The bureaus which are taken to court the most are Department of Provincial Administration, Department of Local Administration and Department of Land. The most typical cases are human and discipline management, welfare, land expropriation, and land and public properties.
