Balloons Released at CMU Asking for ‘A Right to Campaign’

CityNews – A group of Chiang Mai University students, lecturers, academicians, and activists gathered to release balloons with the messages “A Right to Campaign” and “Free our Friends” on them to peacefully campaign for freedom to discuss and share opinions on politics without the risk of arrest.

The protest, held on June 29, was arranged peacefully and plain clothes police and soldiers attended the event. They were also asking for a right to discuss the upcoming constitution referendum.

There were no arrests made.
