CityNews – 5th March 2020, Chiang Mai woman who returned from South Korea, ignoring the recommended self-quarantine period, has, according to a restaurant she visited immediately after her return, caused much trouble for the business. Earlier today we had posted a story of a Chiang Mai woman with the Facebook moniker Nanny Sweetie who returned from a holiday in South Korea, got off the plane and headed out on the town, ignoring the suggested fortnight quarantine, receiving such widespread social media condemnation for her actions she has since deleted her account.
Nanny Sweetie visited a pub in the city and posted a photo of herself with the Thai hashtag saying #letskillcorona, which really got netizens riled up and upset.
Today Prachya Jaiman, owner of the Funky Grill Chiang Mai, where she posted that she had gone to eat on arrival in Chiang Mai told CityNews today that the venue has had to do a deep clean following reports. Prachya said that after the last customer went home last night his staff stayed up and cleaned each and every single nook and cranny of the place, wearing gloves and using the best of cleaning solutions.
He said that he was worried that the news would lead his customers to lose confidence in his place and wishes to tell the public that he is taking all measures and precautions to ensure public safety. He says that while they normally clean the toilets every two hours, they are now doing it on the hour. All dishes and cutlery including glasses are being cleaned with strong germ killing solutions using 85 degree Celsius hot water.
Prachya asks his customers to please be aware of the disease and how it can affect the public, and went on to say that if someone has symptoms of flu, he asks that they do not come to his restaurant at this time as it would lead to fear. He says that his staff are constantly screened and that he is doing everything within his power to ensure that Funky Grill is a safe environment for staff and customers.
