CityNews – Around 3am, 20th January 2019, Saraphi District officers were informed of an accident on the Old Chiang Mai-Lamphun Rail Rd., T. Yang Noeng, A. Saraphi. When police arrived at the scene, they found the body of Suthatsani Tharod, a woman, near the railway tracks which ran parallel to the road.
According to reports, Suthatsani was riding a motorbike with a sidecar heading towards the city when a Chevrolet driven by a Suriya Chaichana drove towards her. Suriya was, according to police, startled to see the motorbike coming towards him and swerved to avoid her. However, as he swerved he saw a large tree coming up towards him and he swerved back onto the road clipping the motorbike and side car and sending Suithatsani into the air. She died of multiple injuries caused by impact.
