CityNews – On 13th March 2020, rescue service was called to a residence in Suthep area where they found a woman locked into her residence surrounded by smoke.
A coal burner was emitting plumes of smoke and the woman was struggling to breathe. She was sent to Maharaj Hospital for treatment.
It was later discovered that the woman in question, Choltat Tapai, 57, was attempting suicide. Choltat, according to neighbours, lived with her son who worked at an ice factory, but he was out at the time of her attempted suicide. Her neighbours said that she had been struggling with depression.
According to Choltat, following her attempt to kill herself, she found herself unable to breathe and therefore called 1669.
