There have been reports over the weekend of counterfeit 500 baht notes being used around the Saraphi area.
According to Wipada Sripud’s Facebook page, two men were seen purchasing items from various shops in Saraphi’s markets on Friday with what was soon discovered to be counterfeit 500 baht notes.
Shop owners say two men, both tall and lanky, were seen using these notes which turned out to have been only photocopies of the real bank notes.
While quality grade paper was used in the photocopy, the thieves only printed one side of the bank note, leaving the back blank.
