CityNews – The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), Chiang Mai Municipality and the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation opened a new safety campaign at Warorot Market to help prevent any more fires.
The project, named “Safe Market With PEA”, was set up to prevent fires at the market, which are often caused by electrical short circuits.
The project aims to check and fix any damaged power distribution systems around the market.
All departments involved also opened themselves up to owners of market stalls and shops to help educate people about using electricity safely and responsibly.
