CityNews – Residents and entrepreneurs of Nimmanhaemin Road were informed yesterday, December 15, that a new one way traffic system in the sois will begin on December 25, in a bid to reduce traffic congestion in the area.
Chiang Mai Provincial Police, Municipality and the Regional Police Traffic Centre believe the system will help solve traffic problems for both Nimmanhaemin Road and Sirimakalajan Road.
The system will be trialed for three months.
The traffic system will implement a one way system in each of the sois, listed below:
Soi 3, 5, 7 and 9 will allow one-way travel east, entering from Nimanhaemin Road and exiting at Sirimankalajan Road.
Soi 11, 13 and 15 will allow one-way travel west, entering from Sirimankalajan Road and exiting at Nimanhaemin Road.
Soi 17 will remain unchanged with 2-way traffic.
The middle soi will become one-way, traveling south from soi 3 to soi 17.
