As a result, on February 21st, Deputy Mayor Chatree Chuamanocharn and Dr. Wasan led Chiang Mai Municipality’s officials to examine the water condition and get rid of garbage blocking the flow of the water in the Ngoen Canal, which will help attenuate the turbid water.

According to Dr. Wasan, the water will affect the ecology of the Mae Kha Canal and officials involved have been urged to find the source of the waste water for prosecution.

According to Deputy Mayor Chatree, the source of the water might be from the east side of the canal, where many factories are located.

The sample of the water was collected for examination.
