The body of 21-year-old Apichai Sarisri, originally from Sakon Nakhon province, was found with a gunshot wound to his head and a gun in his right hand.

At the scene, police found a letter reading begging his parents forgiveness for being a bad son. According to witnesses, the man came to the shooting range at around 11am and left. He came back again at around 2pm to rent a gun from the staff.

The only staff at the time was taking care of customers at the front, so Apichai was alone.

He was later found dead by a cleaning lady who was about to clean up the area.

There was no indication of foul play. The police believe the suicide was due to stress from family problems. This is the latest in numerous shooting range suicides which have occurred over the past decades in Chiang Mai.
