Stop Denque Fever! Chiang Mai Public Health Steps up to the Plate

CityNews – Although a death toll of five people doesn’t seem high, some 7, 000 people in the last seven months in Chiang Mai are suffering from dengue fever. Because of the recent outbreaks, meetings have been called to further educate the public about protecting themselves from the itchy poke of silent stingers.


Wattana Kanjanakamon, director of Chiang Mai Public Health Office, revealed that Mae Ai, Hangdong, Maerim, Maetang and Chiang Dao have the highest rates of patients suffering from dengue fever. The Chiang Mai Public Health Office reiterated the importance of recognizing “mosquito-heavy” areas as well as decorating homes with mosquito repellent, zappers and mosquito coils. Dengue fever is every individuals concern, and helping others protect themselves is the best way to save Chiang Mai from further suffering from disease-ridden mosquitos.
