CityNews – 1st February 2020, many students were surprised after they gathered to join the annual Sports Day & Spirit Night activity at Chiang Mai University, only to find an announcement that the activity was cancelled.
Later, Dr. Amnat Yoosuk, deputy rector of CMU explained to the media and concerned parties that the announcement had actually been made on 31st January 2020, giving the reason for the cancelation of the activity as being because of PM 2.5 levels in the outdoor area and the possibility of contagion from the coronavirus.
