Songkran holidays may be postponed

CityNews – Today, 16th March 2020, reports from the COVID-19 Management Centre, headed by PM Prayuth Chan-o-cha, is that the centre is suggesting postponing the Songkran holidays altogether. The traditional New Year holiday always falls on the 13th-15th of April, which are all national holidays.

Tomorrow the matter will be proposed to the cabinet who will be recommended that the entire Thai new year’s holiday be postponed to a time when things return to normal.

The cabinet will also take the decision on whether night time entertainment venues will be forced to shut at 8pm, as also suggested. Not only that, the cabinet will consider whether all universities nationwide will be closed and classrooms moved online for the foreseeable future.
