CityNews – A video of two boys drowning in the Chao Phraya River on April 22nd has shocked Thailand, not only because of the tragic loss of life, but because two boats passed the drowning boys without offering assistance.
The bodies of Sarin Sae-kwong (20) and Raya Puangsatorn (13) were discovered in the Klong Toey district of Bangkok close to Pasi Pier yesterday. Reports say that Raya jumped into the water to swim but was not able to keep himself afloat in fast moving water. His friends jumped in after him to help him but also found the current too strong.
Pongsatorn Pongprayoon (16), the survivor, said that two passing boats ignored their call for help. Perhaps just as shocking is that the whole incident was captured on film.
