Water levels at Mae Kuang river are rising rapidly and overflowing on the right bank by Pa Paeng weir near Kok Moo Pa village, Sansai. Over 200 homes have been affected by the floods.
However, the Mae Kuang Dam is only filled up to 25% and has a vast capacity to store a further 197 million square cubic metres of water, so there is little worry for the time being about villages downstream.
