CityNews – The Chiang Mai Department of Highways director has inspected a section of a road to Doi Ang Khang.
The area which will be closed is the highway no.1249. Highway no.1249 is the main road to Doi Ang Khang and will be closed for 10 months. The road was damaged by a landslide in October 2017. It has been closed for repairs once but the road still remains dangerous. The Chiang Mai Department of Highways announced that all transportation on the mentioned road will be banned from 25th July 2018 – April 2019.
There are three supplementary roads for travelling to Doi Ang Khang,
1. The road no.107 from Chiang Mai then turn to road no.1178
2. Turn left at Pha Hong Police Booth to Ban Sin Chia
3. The road no.107 from Chiang Rai turn right at the entrance of Doi Ang Khang
Chiang Mai Department of Highways will set guide posts for each supplementary path.
