CityNews – Just one day before the sustainable water management conference at The International Convention and Exhibition Centre (CMICE), riot police are training at Prasertland, off the Irrigation Canal Road.

When the centre hosted the Asia-Pacific Water Summit earlier this year it was expected that protests would be held nearby. Police were in training on many days leading up to the conference.
Only a small group of environmental protestors aired their views outside the centre, nonetheless Deputy Prime Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi unapologetically called them “garbage”, remarks that later became a matter of controversy.
It’s looks like there will be a heavy police presence for the water conference tomorrow judging by the activities at Prasertland today.
