This morning a ceremony was held at the Three Kings Monument, led by the abbot of Wat Jed Yod and attended by Charoenrit Sanguansat, Governor of Chiang Mai.

The ceremony is held annually, in accordance to the lunar calendar and is aimed to bless the city and banish all bad luck. This is a Lanna tradition which also aims at extending the life of the city and ask for happiness and blessings for all.

This year for the first time, due to the pandemic, the ceremony was held in only one location. In previous years it would be held on all mat corners.
