Police Seize Heroin in Chiang Mai and Material used to make Ecstasy

CityNews – 12 tones of phenylpropene, a chemical used to make Ecstasy, was seized by the Office of the Narcotics Control Board on 2nd August in Chiang Mai. The phenylpropene was hidden in 671 barrels of vegetable oil when police found it. It’s believed that the substance was on its way to Holland.

Police also seized 54 kilos of heroin the same day in Chiang Mai in an unrelated case. The heroin was being trafficked from the north to Bangkok by unnamed hill tribe men.
