CityNews – Locals concerned about police fire gun at alcohol checkpoint.

On the night of December 10th at an alcohol checkpoint on Chotana Road, from Khuang Singh Intersection heading towards Mae Rim, police attempted to stop a car that, according to the report, looked suspicious. When the car was sped past the checkpoint, police fired a gun shot at the car. The incident was reportedly witnessed by people at a noodle shop nearby. The owner of the noodle shop stated that the gun shell hit a pot which was being held up by his brother at the head level. The shop’s owner raised the question that if his brother did not lift the pot up, the incident might have ended very badly.

The suspicious car managed to escape using the canal road and police are now investigating the incident.
