CityNews – Police arrested Nattajarat Panthawong (40) for using a firearm in public and injuring people last week.
Police say the man, who was drunk, shot his gun in a public area injuring 12 year old Kanya (no last name given).
It was reported on Thai news site CM108 that the girl was walking with her mother to a toilet behind a bank in Mae Chaem when she was shot.
The mother told reporters that she heard a loud noise that came from the end of the soi when her daughter was hit. When police arrived they investigated the area and found Nattajarat drunk holding a gun and five spent shells on the floor.
The girl is recovering in hospital.
