CityNews – On January 14, The Director of Chiang Mai Zoo, Nipon Wichairat, told the press that the newest member of the Zoo is a baby red kangaroo.
Born to 11-year-old Khun Nay, one of the Zoo’s resident female kangaroos. The father was 4-year-old father, Prompon.
The sex has not yet been determined due to the mother being very protective. However initial observation suggests that the baby is strong and healthy.
This is the third successful birth for the red kangaroos in Chiang Mai Zoo.
The director also mentioned a plan to hold a competition to name the new baby kangaroo.
