CityNews – 19th April 2020, a fire got out of control at a pile of garbage by wat Pha Nam, in Li district of Lamphun. Wat Pha Nam is considered a very sacred temple as it is the resting place of Kru Chao Aphichai Khaopee.
According to the abbot, there was no time to grab masks or any protective gears as all 20 monks and novices spent hours beating back the fire.
The fire went out for a few hours, but by evening time had come back and the entire group had to rush back to put it out again. It has been successfully extinguished.
