CityNews – Maya are preparing to hold a grand practice evacuation in preparation for potential earthquakes in the future. The evacuation will take place March 25.
Komsan Suwan-Ampha, head of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said that due to the earthquake on May 5, 2014 in Chiang Rai province that caused a lot damage to the north, a practice evacuation would be incredibly valuable to the safety of people using the shopping mall if ever an earthquake happens again.
People are to be warmed the practice evacuation will take place on March 25, from 7am – 11pm, but need not be worried. Komsan asked for everyone’s cooperation during the event.
Rescue teams will also be called, which will cause congestion at the Rim Kum intersection, so people are advised to avoid the area during that time.
