Man arrested for stabbing girlfriend 26 times

A man has been caught for stabbing a woman 26 times earlier this week.

The incident occurred on the night of the 31st August when a man entered a 37 year old woman’s apartment in Sansai and stabbed her repeatedly with a knife, The woman was rushed to hospital while the perpetrator, who was suspected to be her ex boyfriend, escaped on a motorbike.

On the night of the 4th August police arrested Sai Nyar Na, 42, who has no Thai or any identifying nationality, for the crime. With CCTV camera footage as evidence, Sai Nyar Na was seen leaving the apartment after the stabbing and riding off towards Mae Kuang Dam.

Upon arrest Sai Nyar Na confessed to the crime, telling police that he had been in many arguments with the deceased over the past two months since they broke up. He had recently learned that she had a new boyfriend and became enraged with jealousy.

The victim is now out of ICU and doctors say that she will make a full, if slow, recovery.
