CityNews – Following the success of August’s “Bike for Mum” campaign, the “Bike For Dad” event will be happening on December 11th, with many stores in Chiang Mai already doing a brisk trade in selling the event’s yellow Bike For Dad shirts.
Bike For Dad yellow shirts are created to celebrate H.M. the King’s 88th birthday on December 5th as well as to show loyalty toward the monarchy.
The prices for adult shirts start at 120 baht, and 100 for children’s sizes, depending on types of cloth texture.
According to a store’s owner on Rattanakosin Road, the store is already selling around 50 shirts per day and expects sales to rise as the date approaches.
Meanwhile, Chiang Mai citizens have lined up to register to join the event at Chiang Mai City Hall. Authorities say that they expect the number of participants to be even greater than at the Bike For Mum event which had 10,000 people register in Chiang Mai.
