CityNews – On 5th June, 4 p.m. Adisorn Kamnerdsiri, the deputy governor of Chiang Mai with Tassanai Buranupakorn, the Chiang Mai Mayor, celebrated Inthakin Festival 2013 at Wat Chedi Luang.
Before the festival started a parade with the Fon Saen Ha Buddha Statue circled around Chiang Mai city. People then went to Wat Chedi Luang to put flowers in 32 flower bowls, bathe the Fon Saen Ha Buddha Statue, worship the giant pagoda, to gild Buddha Statues. There was also various Lanna and local performances. The festival will run from 5th – 12th June from 8 a.m. onwards.
It is believed that the worship of city pillar will bring luck, prosperity and motivation to Chiang Mai city.
