Hmong people sending 10 tonnes of vegetables to help city’s poor

CityNews – 16th April 2020, with a surplus of agricultural products due to the atrophying of the normal marketing channels, a group of Hmong farmers have announced that they would like to offer their surplus vegetables to help alleviate the economic hardship of the people living in the city of Chiang Mai.

The Hmong group has committed to donating 10,000 kg of vegetables to the city, all donated from various villagers and farms around Chiang Mai. Starting today until the 18th, between 9am to 7pm there will be delivery points in front of the Nong Hor Radio Station as the main distribution point as well as the following:

Village Health Volunteer Hang Dong 2,000 kg

Saraphi Municipality 2,000 kg

Sansai Municipality 2,000 kg

Mae Rim Municipality 2,000 kg

Tha Pae 1,000 kg

Women’s Correctional Intitute 1,000 kg

Old People’s Home 300 kg

Sankampaeng hospital, Maharaj Hospital, Nakorn Ping Hospital 500 kg each

Mae Hia village 500 kg

Anyone is welcome to come and pick up these goods, though they are asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Please also bring your own cloth bags.
