CityNews – Owner of vehicle involved in fatal hit and run incident has been identified.
Earlier this week, the families of two girls killed in a hit and run incident turned to social media for leads in the case. The girls were struck and killed by a pick-up truck that then fled the scene. On August 16, police identified the owner of that vehicle as a Police General Officer. Although he was expected to visit the police station that morning, the owner failed to do so.
Today, police released a statement by the suspect. He admitted that he owned the pick-up truck but claimed he was not the driver at the time of the accident.
A witness reported seeing a man in his 50s at the scene. Police are now investigating the claim.
