Thai Eco Solutions is organising a tree planting event in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park.

Thai Eco Solutions with the cooperation of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park will be organising a tree planting event to take place on July 12th 2020 in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. With the support of the park staff, villagers residing within the park, students, local partners and volunteers, Thai Eco Solutions aims to plant more than 1000 trees on a popular hiking / trail running area called ‘Doi Hua Moo’ (Pig Head Mountain) located close to the highest point in the park, which has stunning views of Chiang Dao mountain and beyond on a clear day.

As has been well documented, forest fires burnt large swathes of forest in the dry season and the aim of the project is to offset some of the damage caused as well as to plant more species native to the region. This in turn will help provide additional habitat for animals, improve water retention and ensure the region remains beautiful for nature lovers to enjoy. The event is also a chance for people to enjoy the countryside after a long period of lockdown restrictions, meet new people and participate in an activity which benefits the local environment.

Thai Eco Solutions is currently seeking companies / organisations and individuals who would like to support the project and help fund the purchase of saplings, tools, equipment, transportation, a donation to the National Park and future maintenance to give the best chance possible for the saplings to reach maturity. A number of packages are available which can be seen here: https://thaiecosolutions.com/tree-planting-in-doi-suthep-pui-national-park/
