CityNews – 27th March 27, 2020, in front of Warm Up Café on Nimmanhaemin Road, a centre for COVID-19 support has been set up to distribute food and necessities to those in need. Though the staff of Warm Up have no job to go to, since the café and bar closed its doors following government orders, they have been kept busy cooking food and serving it to the lines of people who have been coming. Strict distancing and hygiene protocols are in place to protect everyone.

Sirapatra Suriyasak, 43, managing director of Warm Up Café said that this is the fifth day now that Warm Up has been catering to those in need. The first couple of days they served sticky rice and grilled pork, but have now expanded the menu to include prawns in tamarind sauce and other dishes. “Initially we opened this centre to aid our 100 plus employees, including DJs and musicians, but after a while we saw the need to expand to help more people.”
“If anyone is in real trouble and needs food or water or if you have a surplus and would like to donate, then please do so,” he continued. “We aim to be here doing this for the duration of the crisis. Donations of raw ingredients from rice to fish sauce would be greatly appreciated.”
