CityNews – 29th February 2020, the Airport Organisation of Thailand (AOT) has clarified a few points about flight services to and from China, in case there was public misunderstanding.

Firstly, AirAsia has cancelled all flights between mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Chiang Mai as of the 1st March 2020 until the end of the winter aviation season which is 28th March 2020.

The Chiang Mai – Taipei route remains open. Secondly, nearly all Chinese airlines from mainland China have been cancelled as of the 1st March 2020 until the end of the winter aviation season. However, the Chiang Mai – Guangzhou and Chiang Mai – Kunming flights are still operating as well as the Chiang Mai – Taipei and Hong Kong flights. But passengers are asked to check with their airlines before flying.

It is hoped, said AOT authorities, that travel will be able to resume to normal after the 29th March 2020.
