CityNews – On 3rd January the statistics for road accidents in Chiang Mai during 27th December 2013 – 2nd January 2014 was released.
119 road accidents were recorded during that period, resulting in 125 injures and 11 deaths.
Chiang Mai ranked as the second city with the most road accidents, following Nakorn Sawan. Most accidents happened in downtown Chiang Mai, Jom Thong, and San Sai Districts.
There were no road accidents in Sankampaeng and Kanlayaniwattana Districts.
The main cause of the accidents was drinking and driving (related to 48 accidents). Accidents happened mostly between 4 – 10 p.m.
