Faculty of Law to Conduct Research on Scar of Doi Suthep

CityNews – Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University (CMU), joined the anti ‘Scar of Doi Suthep’ campaigners in the survey of the land.

The survey group set out on August 6th, led by Teerasak Rupsuwan, the coordinator of the anti-judicial residences on Doi Suthep campaign, accompanied with Dr. Pedithep Youyueyong, Faculty of Law, CMU and fourth year students. Upon the visit, It was discovered that the construction of the residences is nearly completed with current work being done on fencing the area which raises concerns that more trees will be cut down.

With the aim to establish a case study on this epic dispute, Dr. Pedithep will be analysing the legal impact along side his current research which is funded by National Research Council of Thailand, studying the impact of light pollution to wildlife.
