On Tuesday rescue workers rushed to an area in Mae Chaem to put out fires which burst out on a helicopter the deputy governor of Chiang Mai was travelling in.

All 11 passengers are safe and had only minor injuries. Authorities say that the helicopter was in the process of landing, but was whipped by strong winds and dust swirls, pushing the helicopter into the ground and igniting a fire.

This was one in three helicopters in a convoy.
