Rescue teams took around 30 minutes to help the deer out of the canal.

Witnesses said that they saw the deer floating down the canal, but as the water was so low, it didn’t drown.

Rescue officers believe the small deer may have fallen in the canal upstream when its herd was looking for a place to drink water.

The deer was sent to the Umong Animal Conversation Centre.
