A businessman from Lampang was driving along the Hang Dong-Samoeng Road last night when he lost control of his vehicle at a sharp bend.
His car plunged down a cliff and when he came to he managed to call a friend for help. However, when rescue service arrived all they saw was the broken grass where the car left the road, and after an extensive search they were unable to find the car.
However, rescue workers say that they used a GPS locator and found the man in his car, over 100 metres down a sharp cliff. He suffered from head and minor injuries and is otherwise safe. Rescue workers say that they would not have found him had it not been for GPS.
