CityNews – Five Thai universities make the Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2014. The ranking by Thomson Reuter is compiled by the FTSE from only countries with emerging economies. 
Chiang Mai University ranks at number 82 while Chulalongkorn University fairs at #85. Other Thai universities include King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thonburi (#29), Mahidol University (#52), and Prince of Songkhla University (#89.)
